The world of glaucoma surgery is evolving at a pace hitherto unrealized: research, technological advances, device innovations, and technical refinements in the surgical management of glaucoma have made this a very exciting time indeed. Although laser and surgical therapy are the prime focus, the ICGS endeavours to incorporate all aspects of glaucoma care, including epidemiology, diagnostics, and medical therapy in order to be increasingly relevant to the glaucoma practitioner. The congress also endeavours to update the participants on the latest in diagnostic and management options and illustrate present and impending research developments likely to influence clinical practice.

This unique scientific meeting has thus captured the imagination of practitioners worldwide, generating great enthusiasm and anticipation in the field; and the meeting has already garnered widespread interest and enrolment.
